"Adversity is preparation for greatness”
- Andy Andrews
CEO’S CORNER
During this time of year, we hear it all the time:
“April showers bring May flowers.”
We all understand the literal meaning — rainy, dreary days eventually give way to sunshine, growth, and flowers in full bloom.
But maybe that’s also one of life’s greatest lessons.
Because adversity is often a prerequisite for growth.
The hard seasons — the uncertainty, the setbacks, the long nights, the uncomfortable moments — are all part of the process. They shape us. They challenge us. They prepare us for what comes next. The flowers are simply the result of everything that came before them.
What’s interesting is that most of the time, we only see the outcome. The success. The highlight reel. The finished product. The flowers.
What we rarely see is the rain.
We don’t always see the early mornings, the setbacks, the failures, the doubt, or the obstacles people had to push through to get there. But to me, that’s the real story. That’s the real art.
And honestly, that’s part of the purpose behind this newsletter. Not just to share the wins, but to share the journey — the lessons, the pivots, the difficult moments that helped shape where we are today. So thank you for being part of that journey with us.
For anyone building something right now — a business, a career, a new office, a new idea, or even a better version of yourself — keep going. The early stages are usually the hardest. They’re often the least glamorous and the most uncertain, but they’re also where the foundation is built.
A great example of this for us was during the COVID pandemic.
At the time, Forward Science shifted much of our manufacturing from oral health products to hand sanitizer production to help support the medical community during a time of incredible uncertainty. It was a difficult season for everyone, and like many businesses, we were simply trying to adapt, support our team, and continue moving forward.
But sometimes growth comes from places you never expected.
When the world eventually stabilized and we transitioned back into our normal manufacturing processes, we realized something important: through those difficult years, we had developed the ability to manufacture liquid formulations far more efficiently than ever before.
That challenge — those “rainy days” — directly led to the launch of our Stōm rinse line, including TheraStōm and OxiStōm.
At the time, it may not have felt like there were flowers blooming at the end of the storm. But looking back, we realized the growth was happening the entire time.
Because sometimes greatness isn’t found in the outcome alone — it’s found in the process of becoming.
So when you find yourself in difficult seasons, remember this: sometimes the most important thing isn’t how quickly you bloom — it’s your ability to weather the storm.
To keep going.
To keep learning.
To keep building.
Because the skills you gain in the rain are often the very things that prepare you for greatness.
Let’s Find Greatness.

The Silent Killer: Why Your Best Candidates Vanish
THE GHOSTING EPIDEMIC: CANDIDATES ARE DISAPPEARING (AND IT'S YOUR FAULT)
It's a bizarre time in the job market when candidates disappear without a trace, sometimes even after asking for help! But before blaming a generation, look in the mirror.
The ghosting epidemic is a symptom of poor process hygiene:
The Black Hole: Your application process is 30 steps long, and candidates never hear back. They assume their application vanished, and so they return the favor.
The Time Drag: Your three-week gap between the second interview and the offer is a neon sign that says, "We're disorganized." Top talent accepts other offers within that window.
The Low-Effort Outreach: Your mass-emailed, template-heavy communication doesn't feel personalized. Candidates assume they're talking to a bot, and bots don't deserve responses. Candidates ghost when they feel disrespected or unvalued. Speed, personalization, and clear communication are the only cures.
